“You can get there from here” has been a faithful motto to students since the day they entered high school. However little do most of them know: you really can.

Holly Anderson got her start in dance over twenty years ago and has been at it ever since. While at Fort LeBoeuf she started the first ever Dance Team and served as captain and choreographer for all four years; the dance team still continues today and can be seen at all varsity boys home basketball games.

After graduating in 2007, she went on to attend Oklahoma City University as a dance management major and was taught by “the renowned” Jo Rowan. She stayed there for two years and then transferred back home to attend Edinboro University with a major in Business Administration; where she received her Bachelor's degree.

In school, Anderson was far from halting her dance career. In addition to attending Edinboro University, Anderson was a teacher and choreographer to three separate dance studios in the region as well as being a dancer for the Erie Bayhawks Dance Team; where she is now the head coach and choreographer. Anderson also held a job at a tanning salon and directly after she graduated, was promoted to store manager.

Holly Anderson in the past has had quite the list in credentials having been trained in the styles of tap, rhythm tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, swing, adage, lyrical, acrobatics, and theatre dance during her dance career. Several of her appearances include the 2000 Sydney Olympics, The Dave Steven's Big Band Christmas Spectacular, the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular as a performer in the American Spirit Dance Company, The Erie Dance Consortium, the Rock Erie Awards Show, and the 2012 World’s Dance Competition; where in the open hip hop division, her team took 12th in the world.

Currently Anderson continues on with her career in the dance community as Administrative assistant, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap instructor for Hilltop Studio Dance 83: administrative assistant and instructor for the Lake Erie Ballet: and head coach for the Erie Bayhawks dance team. In addition to her work in the dance field though Anderson also works as assistant manager for Total Tan and a sales associate for Herbalife products. "Dance allows me to express myself entirely,” explains Anderson, “I can say more with my movement than I ever could with words. I feel more powerful, more complete, and more alive."  Most recently, Holly Anderson made it to the finals for the Cleveland Cavaliers Dance team, but continues to work on her dream of one day owning and operating her very own dance studio.
