Eight local school bands along with the Bison were on a march as they performed in front of various judges September 21st in the home stadium of Fort LeBoeuf High School.

FLB band members performed four different songs in front of the live audience. The songs included: “Run Away Baby” by Bruno Mars, “Monster” by Skillet, “We are Young” by FUN and “I don’t care” by Fall Out Boy.

Caden Gilson, Senior Bari Sax player, has been in marching band for six years. According to Caden, the band practices once a week for three to five hours in preparation for shows like this and halftime performances at football games.

The show consisted of continuous music unlike those eight minutes the band performs at Friday night football games. The Marching Band show also included special effects, dancers, raffles, and amazing choreography from schools around the area.

Mr. Gilson and Mr. Tater, the conductors of the performance worked very hard to put this show together along with all the students. They both felt like they needed to provide other opportunities for other noncompetitive bands.

“We are all a part of the same music community. We need to support each other,” says Mr. Gilson. “Not just to support the band, but marching arts!” Coming out to the band show demonstrates appreciation to your school; it’s no different than going out on a Friday night to the football games.

The show lasted from six to nine and it was a great outcome despite the cloudy weather. The band will continue to keep working hard for other shows and another band show next year! Thank you all for coming out and showing your support!
